How to Prepare for Your Dog's Photo Shoot
- Grooming first. A bath and brush before the session makes a real difference in photos. Book a dog grooming appointment in Calgary a day or two before your shoot.
- Bring their favourite toy or treat. Familiar items help your dog relax and create natural, joyful expressions in front of the camera.
- Exercise beforehand. A short walk or play session takes the edge off excess energy. Calmer dogs photograph beautifully.
- Wear something you love. For owner-and-dog sessions, choose clothing you feel great in. Solid colours photograph best.
- Arrive on time. Sessions are timed to make the most of natural light. Arriving a few minutes early gives your dog a chance to settle into the location.
- Trust the process. Friday has photographed hundreds of dogs. She knows how to work with wiggly pups and camera-shy seniors alike.
